about us

My name is Karen Chinnes. I live in Summerville, South Carolina with my husband, daughter, and Black Lab, Roady. Cisco, the pony, and Scheeme, an off the track thoroughbred, are also a part of our family. I have spent the past 29 years teaching elementary Physical Education and coaching in the Berkeley County School system. I have been a National Board Certified Teacher since 2002. My Physical Education/coaching background has trained me to be an excellent observer of movement. I have dedicated my life to watching movement of all types. This is of great benefit to me and you during the rider fit evaluation portion of the saddle fit process.

I am a certified saddle fitter. I attended The School of Saddle Fit and Flocking and learned under the direction of Mike Scott, CSF. I successfully completed a course of study in English Saddle Fit and Flocking.

I am not a saddle sales person. I am an independent saddle fitter. My objective is to fit you and your horse with the best possible interface to help you achieve your goals.

On November 1, 2008, I completed my certification in equine massage and muscle therapy. I graduated from the School of Equine Massage and Muscle Therapy under the direction of Mike Scott.  Equine massage and saddle fit complement each other.  If I am working on a horse with a really sore back, I am fortunate to have the skills to determine if it is saddle related and apply these skills toward creating a solution.
